Our Story
1st Care is a Manx family run Domiciliary Care company established in 2013 owned and run by Martina and Jamie Taylor. The company was established in 2013 due to the demand for quality home care for the Islands community.
The company was later dual registered as a care provider for elderly and children with disabilities and commenced caring and supporting children and young people with physical and mental health disabilities too.
At 1st Care at Home (IOM), “1st Care” we strongly believe there really is no place like home. This is why we are right behind those individuals within the Island’s community who wish to remain in their familiar surroundings and maintain independence for as long as possible.
Our Domiciliary Care team specialises in providing dependable, trustworthy, high quality home care for elderly and vulnerable people who live in their own homes.
We apply exacting recruitment standards to ensure we only recruit support workers who share our vision, drive and desire to deliver the best level of care we possibly can. We are motivated by a very simple philosophy within 1st Care which is to simply do the job well, to the best of our ability.
We adopt a person-centered approach to care, whether it’s an occasional visit for companionship, household cleaning or daily assistance with practical tasks like washing, dressing and help at mealtimes, our flexible packages are carefully tailored around the specific needs of all the individuals whom 1st Care support. Whatever the frequency of support and our carer’s involvement, the 1st Care team always endeavours to be consistent, appropriate and accurate. As invited guests within our client’s homes we want the 1st Care service to be a thoroughly rewarding and enjoyable experience for each client.
The care we offer is designed so people who might otherwise have to go into care can continue living at home and maintain their independence and dignity for as long as possible in their own homes, where they wish to be.
It’s a simple formula but we believe it’s important to go that ‘‘extra mile’’ and offer a high level of quality care. We will always endeavour to match carers to like-minded clients.
Here at 1st Care , we are very passionate about continuous training and expanding our knowledge and to help us do this. All our training is carried out face-to-face and we do not rely on CDROM training at all, ensuring the best possible care.

We are the only Domiciliary care company on the Isle of Man to have won a Service Excellence Award, and we are proud to say that we have acquired this for 2 years running now.
